I believe he is/was Jewish, so that would come as no surprise.

Clarence Thomas was mired in controversy because of the charges of sexual harrassment by Anita Hill in addition to questions about his qualifications to serve on the august Supreme Court. C-SPAN viewers, for the first time, got to hear about body hair on soda cans and, not to be missed, Orrin Hatch reading passages from The Exorcist on live, national television. It was truly surreal.

In the end, it looks like Thomas proved himself to be less than stellar, considering he almost never asks any questions and generally writes "me-too" opinions cribbed from Scalia. I suspect half of his militant conservatism is revenge against the groups that chased him to begin with.

So is Dr. Laura. I think religion is relevant here only to the extent that talk radio on the conservative side seems to be trying to serve the religious conservative base of the GOP with more emphasis on "the culture war", while dwelling on fiscal matters far less (perhaps because the current Administration is hardly pinching pennies and it's better to stay quiet about that.)

That's called social commentary and it served as the only outlet liberals like Franken had to respond to conservative media. O'Reilly obsesses about anyone who crosses him.

He was jokingly hoping O'Reilly would try and sue him some more. It fits well with the sense of humor he has and nobody, besides O'Reilly, took it seriously... which was the whole point.

like "immigrant" and says stupid things like "Jews
practice the religion of liberalism." Maybe we could

That's my main argument with today's GOP.

Social conservative plus fiscal liberal is closer to
fascism than it is to Barry Goldwater's GOP. Actually
it's the opposite of historic Republican limited-govt
views, IMHO.

That's why I criticize BOTH the extreme left and extreme
right.

I'm not going to waste all day with you. Attacking Branson doesn't give you a free pass for defending Michael Savage who is a Jewish anti-Semite.
