Why is Seattle/Carolina game on CBS?

They only AFC games, or if the AFC is on the road at an NFC game. Carolina and Seattle are NFC teams. Could it be because of Fox showing a game early this morning?

The NFL instituted "cross-flexing" to ensure that the schedules of CBS and Fox's Sunday games are balanced. Since CBS also had the Thursday night games, they had more NFC games on its air than Fox had NFC at AFC games.

actually it has to do with "good matchups that folks can see"

Tenn/Houston went to Fox this week.

It was all about getting SEA-CAR better coverage. On Fox it would have been buried under CHI-NE and PHI-AZ. On CBS it's the top game.
Yes Phl/AZ was the late game but since Fox had the SH this week that would have knocked out Cincy, NY, Jacksonville and Tennessee markets also since they were at home

The Titans/Texans game wasn't on my local Fox station today. But yeah, it does seam strange but it makes sense to specially with CBS having Thursday Night games as well.

The one problem with cross-flexing though was that Fox ended up with a noon dud in CHI/NE. Regularly we would've been to Carolina well at the start of the 4th quarter, but since there was nothing else, our market got stuck having to watch garbage time in that game to the end, when someone finally switched over to MIN/TB going to overtime.

The Seahawks-Panthers game was kinda of a borefest for most that game, until the final few minutes. If you like a game full of field goals, then Seattle-Carolina was your game.

Yep, Texans vs. Titans was the first time the Texans ever faced an AFC South division rival on Fox 26 KRIV, in the home market. On CBS, which should have the AFC games, it did...only it showed the Cincinnati Bengals/Baltimore Ravens game instead.

I didn't see any promotion of the switch down here in Houston prior to game time. Bet a fair share of people did what I did, went to KHOU 11 out of habit, and said "what the hell?!?"

You can be quite sure that the KHOU sales department wants to wring the neck of whoever came up with Sunday afternoon flexing. Probably lost enough ad revenue to pay several staffers' yearly salary. Of course, it was a big bonus for KRIV.

But how many were too stupid to surf through the other channels after saying, "What the hell?", and finding the game on the other channel?
