Why is Warren Moon on the TV/Radio?

  • A self-admitted wife beater
  • Busted for DWI two times
  • Marginal HOF inductee (Winner of The Grey Cup. Really?)
  • Has a serious drinking problem
  • Confuses players names and numbers in the 3rd, 4th quaters (drinking on the job?

Can we get a pro color commentator for the Hawks? Please? Remember, he held out like a big baby because he wanted to be starting QB in the early 90s. Boo hoo.
 
You would be kidding yourself if you think other talent don't have skeletons in their closet. Look up what Mike Tirico, ESPN's Monday Night Football lead announcer, has allegedly done. Then look up what Jean Enersen has allegedly done. And those are the publicly known examples.

As long as Warren is coherent through the game I could give a flying rats ass as what he does off the air. He is insightful and honest as a color commentator. That is needed to deflect Raible's homerism.
 
Have wondered the same about Warren. His comments tend to just repeat what Raible has already said. Raible: "third down five yards to go for the Seahawks." Moon: "If they get five more yards it will be a first down." LOL
 
If all Warren Moon did was steal shoes, that would be a good thing. I'm not sure what Enerson was rumored to do years back but Warren Moon - a terrific athlete - has been convicted of some pretty nasty, life-threatening stuff that might get him cut from NFL teams today.

Beyond that - I don't think he adds much and isn't afraid to use cliches again & again. Saying that - who would some of you recommend as color guys? Or maybe just Raible alone?
 
Jean Enersen? Stealing shoes?

WHY?

I think she makes enough to buy them. And in her position, I really don't think she'd be so foolish.
