Why is WLTW picking on their jocks?

I don't get it. Al Bernstein helped build WLTW. He was integral to the stations success. I honestly don't get why the station would terminate someone who helped define the station. There are some DJ's who are so thoroughly ingrained with their respective stations, so much a part of the fabric of the station that their stations would likely never even consider letting them go. Jodi Vail on KJOY. Peter Bush on WEBE. Andy Bale on WHUD. Ken Dashow at Q104. Diane Prior on KTU. KT Mills on WALK. Bob Shannon on WCBS who will likely always be welcome at CBS as long as the format exists. Al Bernstein deserved the same consideration as his colleagues across the radio dial. I find it very baffling that only WLTW is slowly eliminating their core talent when most stations are surprisingly stable. The only other Clear Channel station that had wholesale eliminations was KTU immediately before WLTW. While KTU and WLTW bumped people right and left, the corporate bosses have left Q104 and WALK alone. I understand WLTW had tough times but to resort to this completely baffles me.

WAXQ Q104.3 was forced let go of lontime evening DJ Marc Coppola in last years Clear Channel layoff that cost WLTW's Bill Buckner and J.J Kennedy and WKTU's Broadway Bill Lee their jobs, Q104.3 was able covice Marc Coppola to return as part timer a few mouths latter.

in radio and tv anyone can suddenly be gone. cbs-fm tried to cut Big Dan's pay and hours so Dan said good bye. I know of many examples. [personally I once did overnights at a big station. PD said my work was great. then a few weeks later he fired me. they replaced me with a woman. a cousin of the general manager! what a business! )

That Q104 has still held onto Carol Miller as well as Dashow as previously mentioned shows CC still sustains somewhat of a soul.

It's money.

The owner usually sets a projected profit margin for each station. If the revenue isn't high enough, you cut costs.

You'd think that a multi-million dollar billing station would not be so hurting for cash that they start firing the very people that are responsible for attracting listeners and ratings. ???

CC is cutting personnel in many markets. Many multi year vets (and good talents)
Why?
Why did they overspend to buy so many stations in the first place?
Bad, just bad for radio, that CC
