Back when it was Pax Charlotte had WAXN but it was only a part-time affiliatre. Then they dropped Pax entirely. As far as I know you can't get Pax in Charlotte without a dish. I was hoping the digital switch would help me but I can't pick up the Greeensboro-area station WGPX. In the analog days it could be picked up here under the right weather condtions.
NBC was a part owner of PAX at that time. Most NBC affiliates had a news presence on the PAX station in the market (even if it was just a rerun of an earlier newscast). In San Antonio, I used to watch the 6pm news at 6:30pm over on PAX. Same thing when I first moved to Phoenix in 2004.
