Why are there no Judge Judy reruns on cable? Its one of the most watched daytime programs. Is it not allowed to be as its just for syndication? Over in the UK its on 5 channels on satellite and its popular. But then isn't Dr Phil also on OWN?
Don't know the answer to your question, but here in the Hartford/New Haven Market Nexstar's WTNH Channel 8 (ABC) airs new episodes at weekdays at 4PM. While sister station WCTX Channel 59 (My Network TV) airs older reruns 6PM-7PM and has for several years.
I'm not sure what you mean by Judge Judy airing on cable though but here in San Francisco CBS O&O airs Judge Judy before CBS primetime at 7:30 pm. Also KRON the Nexstar owned station airs Dr.Phil.
I think this is more to do with how that particular shows contract was setup though for Judge Judy and CBS Television Distribution the division that deals with syndicated shows determines which stations get the show. As far as I know syndicated shows do not appear on cable and on demand apps for now though.
Judge Judy comes on WZZM at 4PM for a full hour comes after it's spinoff Hot Bench at 3PM full hour. Been on WZZM forever since 97 first year it was on Fox17 they were cheap and decided not to keep it.
