Why no talk about the jocks?

Seems that the last 6 months or so there have been alot of on air changes with little or no response from the the posters on this board.

*BHT has gone from Marino and JoJo to Ryan Hall and JoJo and back to Marino with no full time night jock.

*KRZ now has no full time night jock.

(You'd figure that the 2 top 40 stations in the market not having a full timer in the same time slot would cause some interest)

*Froggy's lineup changed due to Krinik's leaving

*JR fired their morning show, lost their mid-day changed the lineup and added a new morning show.

Just a few things that I thought might start a conversation.

Well, there was a small amount of discussion pertaining to the JR and BHT changes. The problem with this particular board is that discussions of that nature tend to degenerate into personal attacks on some of those involved. Because of that, we pretty much stay away from that subject.

JR should take Jerry Padden from 96.1fm Cat Country and put him on morings on JR.

So basically there can be no discussion of on-air talent on a radio board because the "adults" that post do not know the difference between criticism and personal attacks? I did not ask "Which DJ sucks?" or even "Who should be fired?" I just wanted to know what people thought of the aforementioned situations.

I admit it's a sad situation. As Dad always said there's always a stupid few who ruin it for everyone. Even if you DON'T ask which DJ sucks it always manages to degenerate to that point. The most "memorable" being a flame-fight between two of the DJ's involved that happened last summer.

As to what I think of the aforementioned situations, I think it is a sad commentary on the state of today's broadcasting. The two CHR sataions with no night jocks??? That's ridiculous---7-Midnight is prime time for adolescent radio listeners and they have those shifts voice-tracked??????

JR loses three staff members and doesn't bother to replace them---their duties are just turned over to people already on staff----WHY????

AS is the case in the world of 21st century broadcasting----it all comes down to the bottomline. Do what you have to do to keep the stations from losing money.

I was Kinda curious as to why he was in Allentown. I figured maybe there was a noncompete market clause from entercom. what do I know though? Just speculation.

Speaking of no jocks, what's going on at The River. Is all of the on-air staff just working at WICK now? Will they ever return? In some cases, that may be a blessing--j/k Riley, I know you post here.
