Why not just "Sock It to Cancer?"

No one who knows me will ever accuse me of being overly dignified, but the "Bras Across Broughton" theme struck me as being a little beyond the pale. I do not think CC meant to offend, but I cannot criticize city staff for withholding approval. "Sock It to Cancer"? I like it. So far, it's unanimous.

There are many, MANY other organizations out there that could use support. I'm Susan Komen'ed out myself!

I'm getting tired of the continuous shrill solicitations from all of the charities: I do not like living in a constant state of emergency.

I think a bonfire would have prevented it from being banned. Save the tatas.

The real problem with the Savannah Clear Channel promotion that the city of Savannah banned was their stupid Youtube video showing MALE members of their staff brainstorming how they could make a difference via a promotion this year. The 4 of them finally pulled their bras out from under their shirt and that was supposed to be funny I guess. And then one of them made a crude remark about being a "boob"..... After that the whole idea was DOA. I mean women can make all kinds of jokes about breasts and breast cancer in the interest of promoting a cause but not a bunch of middle age men who dont have a clue nor do they have any real understanding....making a joke about it is bad for anybody but certainly not acceptable by guys....I mean you dont see women joking about jockstraps and prostate cancer......there arent any jockstrap promotions and if there were, it would be the guys doing them....this was a dumb idea and the city did the right thing to stop CC from implementing it.....

^ Agreed.

As of this morning, CC is still airing spots promoting this idea, complete with bras across "bra-ton" st. Uh....it ain't happening guys.
