Why?'rd 965

I go back to about 1985 or so in my radio listening, the 965 of today is no doubt the worst chr I have ever heard in Philadelphia. Some of those 80s versions of chr on 1061 were pretty bad but wired takes the cake, it is just awful.

It is a shame because when they signed on at first they were really good, a fun listen, good imaging, decent jocks, and the music was right on. I enjoyed the Jerry Clifton imaging but even my non radio friends like that whole "ish loads of music" thing as well.

It seems that as the music changed from hip hop being the thing to now where edm and edm flavored pop music is what is hot, Wired just can't embrace it correctly, they are late on obvious hits that are edm flavored and they play some hip hop songs that don't belong on a chr today. 989 owns hip hop and rnb, there is nothing to gain by being a watered down second run station of that, when you have a niche to your own that will be far more profitable, being that true rhythmic pop station that hammers those edm hits and edm flavored pop.

Since q102 is one of the weakest iheart media major/medium market chrs in the country, cbs would have more success with amp in Philly than they have had elsewhere, face it q102 is no kiss 108 or z100, amp in Philly will be able to beat the iheart heritage chr in this market.

With that said kyw is right now the #1 biller in the market, but not for long with the way the ratings have gone. I think now is the time for a kyw fm, just about everyone under 45 does not use am radio, and many would give kyw fm a preset for the traffic, weather, and news updates. With how well wtop and wbbm do with their fms, kyw's additional revenue by being on fm will surely surpass whatever wired is doing now, but would it be enough to surpass what billing you would get with amp and it being the markets leading hit music station?
