This is a VERY interesting reader comment about the article:
"Ford was a very early investor in ibiquity, then recently told them openly to get their act together before all the advertisers move on. I dont recall ford installing any hd units yet... not a very good sign imho."
that mark guy is pretty smart and honest, on where the greater "audio industry" is heading.
i see arbitron has now obtained the fcc certs, for the ppm device as of 10/6/06 from reading the manual its clear it was from 2005 based on the listed date.
along with it will come great pain for many stations imho.as real listener numbers begin to surface, more advertisers will migrate to other platforms. when the process starts watch out for wallstreet, along with certain industry trades to really pound away with the negitive spin.they have been waiting collectively to force a major shake out upon the sector.
then they will step in to "help" pick up the remaining powerful peices. along with their primary partners.
the comment you mentioned above was made directly by fords media buyer....
Oh this could really hurt HD Radio, if he follows up with more comments, which im sure he will. when this guy starts on a subject he turns it into news.......right or wrong true or false
hes pounded sirius for a couple of years, it also confirms my perception that certain wallstreet players are trying to drive all of broadcasting into the ground...
sorry i dont have a direct link ,but im sure this will get picked up as news.
Bank of America Analyst Jonathan Jacoby is reporting that HD Radio is suffering from first-generation equipment/software failures.
