Showtime at the Apollo ( Weekend 1 or 2 am ), Soul Train ( Weekend ??) , and Our World ( Black Enterprise Show 5am Saturday on Ch 7 ) .

Advertisers don't generally target people who write sentences such as "why so many black show on bad time slot in Boston."

Besides, it doesn't matter what time the shows air in 2008. If you aren't up that late, record them.

Aren't those old shows that are long out of production?

It's funny you mention this as I just thought about a "black show" I saw. I think the host was doing this same type of program a generation ago. It's really incredible this type of programming has lasted this long in an atmosphere where last weekend's NYT questioned the need for the entire PBS network.

Some local shows are clearly anacronisms and make-work projects stations have to present minority programs. But to be seen at a resonable hour you need an impressive list of sponsors like "Black college quiz?" and Liz Walker has Blue Cross picking up her expences.
