Why So Quiet Bubba?

I thought Bubba tells it like is? Why has he yet to mention Lex And Terry's show is now on 98 Rock? Nervous? I have a feeling this will be fun to watch...

Even Bubba, in the decline of his career, shouldn't be all that concerned about Lex and Terry. He's just too busy worrying about vacation boy MJ/Schnitt.

Why bother wasting his breath? L&T are a complete non-issue in this market.

Which proves that live and local can beat syndication and vt'ing. I realize Bubba may be over-the-top to some-------but he is live and local and that is suppossed to be what us boomers miss the most about the departure of stations like WABC and WLS.

Live and local??? Speak for yourself. Us folks here in Jax are getting the syndicated crap from Tampa all over the dial. Lex and Terry on Planet radio 107.3, MJ on 97.9 Kiss FM and now Bubba on Rock 105 (104.5). Yeah, so much for local...............

He has killed them twice before so why would he care? Its really a non issue, they were even beat on their own turf.

Like most bullies, he talks a lot of crap until a bigger guy walks into the room... then he changes his tune. Whether you like L ex & Terry or not, they are the bigger show. It's either that, or his bosses told him he can't talk about L&T. He turned into the corporate radio guy he claimed he would never be. I was hoping to hear some outrageous stuff when he came back, instead... it's a dumbed down corporate version of his former self. The real Bubba's on Sirius, the empty shirt is on the bone.

Lex and Terry originate from Jax.

I thought they were out of Dallas now.

As far as being the bigger show, I think Kabrich's response to that (in another thread on this particular board) answers that misconception. Better to be lucky that good, I suppose.

To be fair... he addressed Lex and Terry when he resurfaced on The Bone and Rock 105 a few months ago. Basicly called out MJ in Tampa Bay (as we all know) and L&T in Jacksonville. Seriously... I don't think he's ever mentioned 98 or Buckethead anyway. 98Rock is no longer a player in the morning show wars and Bubba knows it. While he has little respect for people like MJ and will make that well known, he's not about to waste airtime promoting or talking about other shows that aren't even gonna show up on the radar. Face it... L&T may work elsewhere but they're never gonna fly in Tampa Bay hence the silent treatment Bubba is giving them. Poor L&T... not even gonna get the scraps that hear about the show off the competition. Now I'm thinking they may not even draw a 1.0.

Hey parttimer, Lex and Terry DO NOT broadcast from jacksonville. Yes, they once did, moved to Dallas, then moved back to Jax, then moved again back to Dallas. their syndicate genius prefers Dallas.

Didn't know about that last move back to Dallas... thanks (but to clarify, the post I was responding to had them as coming from Tampa, which has never been the case).

Bubba has talked about buckethead before granted not very often and he shouldn't of. But just a few weeks ago, he was talking a bunch of smack about arriving in Orlando at the beginning of January and that he was going to take lex & terry down. He said that they don't have the balls to show up in Tampa, in his back yard. Well they did and now he is concerned to bring attention to the fact that a big rock war is about to occur and that a bigger rock show has showed up. He doesn't mention them because he doesn't want to lose his momentum. In the meantime, 98rock has been saying some ****ed up things about Bubba. pretty cool. This should be fun.

L&T have no chance. All you have to do is listen to L&T's promos about Bubba for proof. Calling those promos "lame" is a compliment.

Clear Channel forced L&T into a gun fight, and armed them with butter knives.

Can you say "Rover, live from Chicago"?

L to the M to the A to the O.

Actually, L&T were begging to be put in.

For years they have told any Radio Exec that would listen how they could beat Bubba in Tampa.

Of course, they could not even move the meter when Bubba WASN'T in Tampa.

Tampabay Radio Listeners will just LOVE to hear L&T talk about Dallas. ;D

If you want a preview (and past history is a good indicator), Stern, Bob and Tom, Bubba, MJ and L&T were all in Ft. Myers about 4-5 years ago.

Within 12 months, despite being handed large ratings, L&T had lower ratings than all the others.

Although the answer is basically no, there haven't been very many.

Stern on 1010 was too late to count. Imus on 1010, Tan Talk and WHNZ, all lousy signals. L&T on the Bone. Am I forgetting anyone? A brief run of Scott Shannon on Mix96 I think?

Who's on WTMP, Joyner? Maybe the one success story, relatively speaking.
