why the hate for eddie andelman?

sure he has a horrible accent. and his voice sounds like his throat is full of phlegm.

of course he is self-aggrandizing, pompous etc etc.

but he does make some valid points. he is educated. that stands in contrast to most sports talkers who went down to csb and now get on the radio and tell us how great...OMGZ DA PATS ARE!!!11 RED SOX NATION!!!111

So you like Callahan and Andelman? Where do you stand on Meterparel and Mustard?

meter is awful. that radio voice is enough to turn anyone off.

mustard is okay. not a great broadcaster. his political views are...well...mostly crazy.

The guy is a staple. Love him or hate him. There's a reason why he survived. Good for him

I wonder if the internet was around back when Eddie started, how far would he go ?
Whispering about the track and parking lot, I think that stuff would have been dealt with much more harshly
by Bloggers and such than the media dealt with it back then.
I think he totally lost it over Big O & how he would go to the Zone and kick Glenn's butt, very silly.

Eddie never lets go of grudges. Part of the reason he refuses to talk about hockey (even when it was more popular around here) is because of some feud with Harry Sinden.

Envy?

-he's successful

-he's rich

-he's (over)confident

-he's had a long career.

-He seems to be able to eat whatever he wants. ;-)

He has been able to be rich, successful, and eats all he wants. Good luck to him!

[EDIT-namecalling and inflammatory content]

That alone is reason enough to not listen to him. It's the radio you need to have a decent voice, but I just lost whatever point I was trying to make because the new Red Sox NESN reporter was just on in HD....damn ADD

i strongly disagree.

howard cosell didnt have a radio voice.

I didn't listen to Eddie on the 70s, but listened to him through the 90s and his ending at WEEI was what sealed it for me. He is a bitter hateful person who (as someone else mentioned) can't let go of grudges. The fact that he took his issues with EEI out on the callers and did everything he could on-air to sabotage and hurt EEI's ratings left me with a heavily sour taste in my mouth. His talk down of hockey and trashing of the Bruins, while in the same sentence stating he hadn't watched a game in almost 25 years, was pitiful. Could of had great hockey talk with Dale. Instead, he did everything he could to get people to stop listening to his show. Not caring that Dale is spinning down the whirlpool with you...scumbag, total scumbag.

I didn't follow him to that short-lived sports station, nor did I follow him to TKK.

People talk about his money like it matters. He's done well. Great for him. Maybe he can pay to have the black taken out of his heart and personality. I wouldn't listen to him again even on accident.

Actually the only thing I liked about Eddie was that he discouraged hockey talk. The voice, the accent, the bad grammar, and the open hatred and jealously of his co-workers and sports personalities were just to hard to take. He was like a combination of Larry Johnson and Callahole.

He actually made me into a Jimy Williams fan. I would only listen to the show for a few minutes on my lunch hour and during that brief time he would always criticize Jimy about something totally outrageous abd unfair. I really felt sorry for Dale.
