Why the Opus Codec Matters - Even if You Don't Care About Audio

Have you heard of the OPUS codec?
This looks really promising and when it gets to free applications for getting audio from one place to another it will be a cheap (free) high quality way to do a remote.

I believe Opus is already in some of the Tieline broadcast codecs.  And StreamGuys are offering it as one of their coding choices.  It does appear to be quite an interesting algorithm.  Some useful information here:
