Why was Garrett's post deleted?

I read Garrett's post and see NOTHING wrong with it...

That is, the post where he wrote,

"This should be no suprise to anyone, but My94.1 is now promoting the comming of Jeff and Jer on thier newly restructured web site.

I do think that this is the first time that radio stations have been so forthcomming about Jeff and Jer. I don't even remember Star promoting Jeff and Jer before they left Q106. Than again, that was still a hostile period, so that too may be another of my fuzzy memories."

It wasn't deleted.

Garrett's post is still there, as are most of the posts below. Just click on it.

The thread was closed to further replies, probably because of the stuff that happened downthread.

If a post is deleted, it either says "deleted" in the subject or it's just not there. If a thread is closed to further replies, you get the strikethrough.

I, for one, am glad he closed it!

Re: It wasn't deleted.

Don't ever worry about Garrett's posts being edited..he wants to
edit and eliminate many of our replies to his posts...I know it
he tried it with me.

I did?
That would have been neat trick since I'm not a moderator.

He didn't say you did. He said, you want to.

Yeah, you know, like being friends of the Gotti's, you get certain respect. Any dissing of Chris will be locked down quickly on this forum.

If the dissing stops being objective and starts becoming personal attacks, you're damned right we'll lock it down.

Those of you who think that Radio-Info is a free-for-all where anything goes need to rethink your position. This site is a private venture, and the owners are not inclined to take the legal heat for slanderous remarks. That is why we have moderators ... to eliminate that risk for the owners.

You don't like it, you don't have to post. And remarks like the above violate rule #5 by the owners (go read it if you don't already know it) who have a tendency to ban people who make a habit of criticizing moderator decisions or R-I policies.

And let's not have the "right to free speech" replies, please. That only applies to the government, not to private enterprise.

"Objective Dissing" ? I've never heard of that. How, exactly, is that done?
Thanks

I was giving people as much benefit of the doubt as possible. :)

What I meant was, a lot of negativity is tolerated, as long as it has some objective constructive criticism content. That still, in my view at least, counts as dissing. (IMHO, YMMV.)

It's when posts consist of personal attacks instead that the mods get upset. As is well known, I tend to get the most upset. (Not an apology but a statement of fact.) Thus the aforedescribed line in the sand. Preferably at Solana Beach.

Now, if only your policy applied evenly, so that if anyone gets dissed, the post is immediately locked. And I don't just mean people who actually post on the forum, I mean if ANYONE gets disrespected/personal attacks/whatever. Then I think about half of the topics in the forum would be locked, because someone always says something about someone else. That isn't going to happen, hence if you are friends of the Gotti's, you get that extra special treatment.
Edited by Jacmac on 08/05/05 04:02 PM.

Re: It wasn't deleted.

Jacmac, the next time you violate #5, as you did AGAIN below, the admins get a notification.
