Why was the Giants/Jets game on both 101.1 and 101.9?

The exact same play by play was on both CBS-FM and WFAN 101.9. 101.1 was delayed 8 seconds and was in HD, and 101.9 is never in HD.

Perhaps CBS is looking to transition the Giants games from 101.1 WCBS-FM (which is listed as the current flagship) to 101.9 WFAN, a sports radio station. Perhaps having them on both stations for a while would help with the transition.

The Met game lasted until after 7. Given that the Yankee game started at 7 on WCBS 880, they had to use CBS-FM this time to air everything in it's entirety (including the pregame).

I think the contract with the Giants states that their games must be on a CBS station. In September it is likely that the Met games will be moved to WBBR
