I'm confused. Why was the entire "Old Fashioned CHR War" thread deleted? Perhaps tehre were a few personal attacks in there that could have been removed, but for the most part that was a purely relevant and coridial discussion of a battle between two stations in the Seattle market.

Isn't that why this discussion board exists? Or does it only exist to give people an outlet to post their weekly link to Bill Virgin's boring weekly waste of paper?

Because people have yet to understand that discussion shouldn't involve flexing your internet muscles in hopes to score the chicks.

I suspect because other than the initial premise that was offered there was no meat in the entire thing -- just a lot of whining about individual credibility.

Someone suggested to me it would be fun to set up a happy hour somewhere for Radio Info & other industry enthusiasts to have some appetizers and a real interactive discussion about radio topics. While I love that idea, my response at the time was that I didn't think most of the people who were on the board were old enough to get into a bar based on the level of maturity I see in many of the discussions.

I've said it many times:

INTERNET: SERIOUS BUSINESS!

You can still see and read the thread.

If you really want to know (before this post and/or thread is deleted)....

There were a few attacks on there, yes. I pointed out the experience of both PDs (or in one case, the lack thereof). One person couldn't back up his/her claims, and then that person, in addition to a regular on this board, decided to attack me again without my attacking him (that post was completely deleted).

One of the posters who made it personal was solicited to contact a moderator, that person responded both on the board and via e-mail, then the string was moved to the status that it is currently.

And I'm NOT hungover today.

that whole thread dispays the spineless moronic behavior of some of the posters.
And then when the thread is closed it shows off the whiney attitude of others. How much free time at work do some of you have? I know most of the people on the site aren't idiots, but the 3-4 that are really stand out on "issues" like this.

This brings up a good point. I don't know where all these employers are that let their employees have unrestricted access to everything on the Internet, but at everywhere I've worked for the last 5 years, their policies were clear: go to a website that's not related to performing the function(s) of your job, and you're out the door.

I visit websites in my own home, on my own time, on my own dime (actually, $7.95). That way, I'm not wasting the resources of people who actually go to work to do their job. BTW, if your employer allows you unrestricted Internet access, more power to you, just make sure you use your powers wisely.<P ID="signature">______________
If it's the "greatest music ever made," why is it <a target="_blank" href=http://kisn910.com/>relegated to AM</a> or online only?</P>

or MAYBE some people work in the evening/from home and thus have time to be online in the day time? hhhmmmmm.
