If Jimmmy Reyes was let go last week why is he still up on the Hot 92 Jamz website? He's even still on the rotator 6-9 AM pdt for the morning Jamz session. Time after time this occurs at every Clear Channel L.A. website. What happened to detail oriented program directors?

Glenn, reference that when Bradley was let go at Star, I pointed out that he remained on their website for a couple of days.

I asked you then, since you always paint yourself as knowing what is going on at CC's Burbank cluster, why.

It looks to me that this is going to be one of those rare times when we agree on something.

And when Archer was let go by KBIG, he was up for days on the rotator. That is just three examples from 2006. Very poor attention to details. They should have been pulled off immediately when they were given their termination notices.

The people who handle the websites for Clear Channel work hard.
But they're not always the first to know when changes are made.
It's up to the PD's to let them in on what needs to be done.
But it's not just Clear Channel, websites at CBS and others don't
get updated as quickly as they should, especially when it comes
to staff changes. When there are a lot of things happening like
terminations the website can be pretty far down on the list of
things to do...
Edited by calguy on 04/18/06 08:38 AM.

Jimmy Reyes is still up on the website and rotator today.

When Archer and Bradley were let go, they should have pulled them off the rotator as well as the website at the same time. They did not. I also blame the in-house web staff as they should be proactive in notifying the pd of what may still be up on the site.

Stuff happens - especially when the station webguy/gal might be handling all the stations in the cluster (have you ever maintained 1 busy station website? try 3 or 5 or 7...), as well as possibly being the cluster IT person AND having to do an airshift (either live or VT). Same with the PD who is 'overtasked' (for the lack of a better word) on a daily basis - no matter how organized and detail-oriented a person is, there are still some things that are going to slip through. The PD may have sent a memo, but there may not have been anybody on the other end to complete the work at that time; or busy with more important work.
______________

Poor excuses. Slip through 3 times in just 3 months? And these are just 3 examples. This is the number 1 or 2 billing cluster in the nation. And CCLA has its own IT staff many of whom don't have any other job description. It is a program directors' duty to make sure this kind of detail is completed ontime and it should have been the minute they told each of these three they were out. This is Tuesday and Jimmy Reyes was fired last week. This should never happen especially in a market the size of Los Angeles. I don't like excuses, I like attention to detail.

Someone must be paying attention to you. No Jimmy Reyes to be found on the site as of 7:11 PT 4/18.

Not true. He's still up by name and photos on The Jamz Session photo tour and on the rotator at 8:30 AM PDT. They only pulled off his name from the on air talent lisings.

wasn't making excuses for anybody. just telling you what happens sometimes. i don't have time for this. i've got a station to run, a website to maintain and a show to do. i'm very detail oriented. have a nice day nitpicking on l.a. radio station websites and the rest of your targets.
______________

This is just so important!!! The station website is just
THE most important aspect of the radio station!!! Geeze!!!

Face it, you're talking about 2 of the most undermanned stations
in the CC cluster. Non union by the way. One PD is running the
show for both and I'm sure he has much more to worry about than
taking someone's name off the site. Oh, and the IT department
does not handle the websites. They are a 2 man department for
8 stations who handle computer problems for all departments for
the building. They were a 3 man operation till the recent cuts.
The stations websites are taken care of by someone from programming
or promotions. It's just too low on the list of things to do,
but eventually will get handeled. It's not like this isn't happening
or has happened at other companies. I seem to recall changes at
some CBS station websites that took weeks to happen.

> This is just so important!!! The station website is just

Don't you realize you are criticizing the all great and powerful Oz ... er, Glenn?

If you don't acknowledge that he, and only he, knows what is going on, you'll never work in radio again?

And with that, I would like to bring this Seinfeld of a thread (the thread about nothing) to conclusion.
______________
