WI-FI radio receivers? What is Wi-fi???

What is a wi-fi radio?

Has anyone bought a wi-fi radio? What do you think? Can you pick up local Indy stations?
Is buffering a problem? The C. Crane company indicates they have successfully
picked up over 2000 stations just in the USA alone.

Seems a WI-FI radio is something that picks up the wireless router's signal & allows Internet Radio to be tuned in without the need for a computer. Not a new idea...there was a "Kerbango" that was out a couple of years ago that may have been before it's time--plus it make have required a direct Ethernet connection, whereas the new ones seem to play within a certain distance of your router. The concept could make listening to interent radio more appealing without having to have it come from your computer's speakers. Here's one place to read about it...

i've read where Micro-Soft is working w/ Ford Motor Co. to put wi fi in their cars. I believe I read it on hear 2.0

If this product has legs, it could mean the end to over-the-air broadcasting as we know it. All a "broadcaster" would need is good, solid webstreaming.

Anybody wanna buy a used tower?
