This will be the last week on the air for Casey Hoff, who hosts WTDY 1670 AM's "New Ground" program weekdays. The Madison-born Hoff is moving to Milwaukee this fall to begin law school at Marquette after five years on the air here.
Hoff was Madison's link to Bill O'Reilly 's show (he made three appearances), where he caused headaches for UW-Madison officials on such topics as Kevin Barrett and the UW Band. Hoff credits John "Sly" Sylvester as his mentor who "stressed thinking independently," although Hoff got his start on WTDY as an intern for the outrageous Chris Krok. ...
MCKENNA TAKES ON SYKES
Speaking of Milwaukee radio: WIBA 1310 AM's flag-wrapped Vicki McKenna is expanding her reach.
Starting Monday, she'll be on the air in Milwaukee replacing Jay Weber , who is moving to morning drive, on WISN 1130 AM. McKenna will be on WISN from 10 a.m. to noon, in addition to her Madison afternoon gig on WIBA, which will now air from 3 to 6 p.m. That slot pits her against fellow conservative Charlie Sykes on rival WTMJ.
"She's filled in for Jay before and she was great, got a great response," says Brian Schimming , McKenna's frequent co-host. ...
