... Lepay and play-by-play colleagues Brian Posick and Mike Heller are the voices of winter, the men behind the microphone who provide the sights, the sounds and insight for three primary UW teams: men's basketball, men's hockey and women's basketball, respectively.

They often take listeners where they can't go - to Columbus, Ohio, for the men's basketball battle between No. 1 and No. 2; to Houghton, Mich., or Duluth, Minn., for a hockey weekend; to Indianapolis' Conseco Fieldhouse for the Big Ten Conference women's basketball tournament - as they describe the scenes of a delirious victory or a disappointing defeat.

"They are good for the scene - the athletic scene - with their insights and enthusiasm," UW men's basketball coach Bo Ryan said. "They make you feel like you are a part of it."

Youth movement Little did Posick, Heller and Lepay know that their love of sports and love of talking about sports as youngsters would bring them together in the Madison market and announcing UW games for Learfield Sports. ...
