WIBBAGE [email protected] EXPANDS

WIBBAGE [email protected] continues to expand and the response has been spectacular!
We are now rebroadcasting in the Wildwoods and Southern Cape May County at 92.3 FM.
More expansion to come, and alot of interest from Philadelphia. Stand by also for
much more media interactive at wibg.com Listener response from throughout the
state and around the nation has been overwhelming. And with WI-FI in Philly
even more suprizes. We'll have more later.

Also major engineering improvements to our sister station WIBG1020AM The Talk of South Jersey.
Transmitter facilities are being completely upgraded

Question: How much of the Wildwood area are you covering? What is your ERP, HAAT, and so forth? Where is your tower?

The 92.3 translator transmits from the tower behind the Off Shore Motel on Route 47 @ Exit 4 of the GSP....I believe it used to simulcast Family Radio via 106.9 WKDN Camden.....It think its a good move for WIBG-FM as 94.3 suffers from tropo in the southern part of Cape May County.

How about the Atlantic City / Brigantine area where 94.3 isn't all that strong? With summer tropo WJLK-FM is a big problem in northern Atlantic County and in Atlantic City proper 94.3 is almost totally wiped out by all of the tall buildings and nearby transmitters.

Did the WIBBAGE ownership buy the license for the translator, or are they leasing it from someone else?

The 92.3 translator is still owned by Family Stations ..
It was taken off the air on August 9, 2011 when WKDN went to commercial status, right before it was sold ..
The translator's license was due to expire this past Thursday, but they reached an agreement to rebroadcast WIBG at the last minute, and the translator came back on the air on August 7 ..

WIBG FM definitely needs a translator in the Mays Landing area near the Hamilton Mall as many mornings WIP FM overides WIBG FM...which is only normal since WIP FM is a much stronger station

92.3 really did come in handy this morning........I could not get 94.3 south of exit 6 this morning b/c the tropo was so strong from the south that I was picking up county WINX instead....In fact I could not get any of the northern signals clear (98.3, 102.7, 103.7, 99.3 etc. were all gone) and even 100.7 had issues down by the Cape May Point.

I wonder if the 92.3 translator can be moved maybe a little west of here (Hamilton Mall). I hear 94.3 FM just fine throughout Cape May and Wildwood. I've been at the tip of Cape May by the ferry sitting in my vehicle and listening to 94.3 FM without problems whatsoever . The other advantage to moving the translator to Atlantic County Region is that I've heard that Hamilton Mall area is a more desirable market for radio.

I can hear WIBG-AM throughout much of South Jersey. It's got one of the best signals for any AM in South Jersey, bar none. Improvements to the signal would be amazing. As it is, I can hear it clearly in Turnersville, NJ and the entire area of Williamstown, etc.
