Marv:

1) WZPL has wobbled between CHR/Pop and Hot AC for a long time. I'd say the last serious attempt at CHR was around 2000, before Radio Now was launched
2) I can't remember a time, certainly not in the last 4 - 5 years.
3) One could argue the old WKLU was competing with WFBQ.
4) I'm not sure when it started, but it ended in October 2007
