Wibc in HD?

Thanks. I have noticed that they are still running the HD promos, but I couldn't get it. Thought my radio was to blame. Thanks again.

93.1 was in HD when it was Radio Now ... why would they need to install a new xmitter?

It has something to do with the old transmitter blowing modules fairly regularly. Not sure what we are installing, but I think we are also re-doing the HVAC system in the transmitter room. I know we are allowed to bring up the level of the HD signal, that may be part of it.

The old transmitter was new in the early 2000's, it was basically the same model as what we are using on our NYC stations at the time...I forget the model...want to say Platinum Z

Blowing modules? Strange...Dave Hood told me that it had NEVER blown a module since it was new (I asked him because I have a Z that blows about 1 a year). But when you let the guy go who knows how to care for it................

I was wrong the Z series transmitters are fine. The newer BE transmitter is being replaced (the one that has the HD) with a new Nautel that allows for higher HD sideband power.

May be someone or this board can help.
Can you buy a FM transmitter with HD “built in”? From what I have read most stations buy a separate xmitter, cable and antenna for HD on FM. I was under the impression that the “HD” was a signal kind of like the SCA only digital. Is there a good website that has the options? I am trying to help a friend in bad health, who might have to “repo” a station. The station is 2 months late paying the 6th year of a 10 year note. Nothing can happen till the legal dust settles, but there is a real possibility of a default. The only reason I would even think about HD is the possibility of a translator for HD2.
