WIBC Promoting Concerts??

I heard a promo for WIBC giving tickets for the Bob Dylan concert. This leaves me shaking head on so many levels:

1) A news/talk station giving tickets away to caller number 9

2) Bob Dylan..anti Viet Nam War lefty being promoted on a right wing leaning station

But then again

WIBC's demos are getting older. Maybe they are the only station that their listeners actually knows who he is.

Concert promoters know where to put their advertising dollars. WIBC runs spots/promotions for a number of "rock" acts. Their giveaway usually involves website registration, not call-in. WIBC likely has a fair number of liberal listeners as well.

I actually heard Dick Crum call him Bob DYE-lun during a Saturday morning remote with Denny Smith. Wow, caller #1 on the out of touch hotline, Dr. Dirt. ???

Between that and the outdated, untrimmed, raw Dan Dakich spots playing during breaks in their webstream, how the once mighty have fallen.

Almost no one gives a damn about how anything sounds any more, on-air or online. What a shame. At least I got to work in the biz while it was still something to be proud of!
