WIBC traffic reporters

Anybody know what happened to Reb Porter at WIBC? I haven't heard him there in a couple weeks at least, and the station Web site doesn't list him as being a traffic reporter. jim
 
My guess is that he was let go by traffic.com or by WIBC when they hired Jamie Sullivan. I Havent heard Kevin Cole on WIBC in a while since Jamie came aboard. and now with it looks like Mel McMahon is on Mat leave or bed rest not sure which it is Jamie is the only Traffic Reporter at Emmis
 
Word on Monument Circle is the financial picture at Emmis is pretty bleak, they may claim these changes are all part of the format/frequency swaps, but they are drastically cutting costs nationwide, not just Indy.
 
I heard Mel this morning on Hank so I don't think she gave birth yet.

I also think Reb and Kevin Cole are/were traffic.com employees. So Emmis isn't responsible for their salaries.
 
Some dude last name Thunder is doing afternoon traffic -- and every time I hear his name, I think, "Ok alias for alternative rock or something, but not for traffic." All the new traffic people sound young and less polished than what was before.

The WIBC news team page was just updated since, like, yesterday. All the photos are new. Sorry to see John Bartholomew go, he was about their most solid reporter. Hate to see experience like that walk out the door.

Didn't know that Reb Porter worked for traffic.com.

Reb Porter is no longer with traffic.com--the traffic service provider for Emmis. Kevin Cole was promoted within traffic.com. Jamie Sullivan does morning drive on WIBC from the plane and Mel McMahon does afternoon drive. Mel was on the sisters stations this morning, and will return to both drive shifts tomorrow--as long as she doesn't have that baby between now and then. ;)
