WIBX Am & FM off air. Facebook page says due to Weather related issues. Was stating that the station would be back on air Tuesday 2/1. Only the web stream is on, but no mention of the on air signal status that I heard while listening to the morning show today.
Update: WIBX 950 am and FM translator returned to the air. I heard the Am signal weakly in the downtown Utica area on Wednesday 2/2 morning. The FM had not yet returned to the air.
On Thursday 2/3 the fm was back on and the AM was apparently at full power as far as I could tell.
Later Thursday afternoon, the station got a mention on the Jimmy Fallia national radio show they carry when The the host, Jimmy Failla, took a caller from the Utica area in the last hour of the show, the caller mentioning that WIBX was off air for the Weekend with out any notice because they were waiting for a part to be shipped. Failla then quipped ‘what kind of operation is that to be off because they don’t have a part? Keeler ( the Utica Morning Host) must have been gambling the stations maintenance money away’. It was quite funny and interesting to hear the mention of the local station and staff member carrying the national show And get some inside baseball laughs.
