WIBZ 95.5 CP

I just noticed on radio-locator.com that WIBZ has just filed a CP to move it looks like a little to the west to cover parts of Columbia. My only concern is how? With 95.3 WFMV in the way, how is it possible? Their target signal will still be Sumter, but the new CP carries the fringe signal all the way towards just west of the city of Columbia. My only other possible thinking is they will use 95.5 to simulcast the eastern part of the metro with the regional mexican station on 93.9. Thoughts?

HNNNNN Interesting Neil... How bout 94.7 what kind of coverage does it have??? Does it cover the same area as IBZ or is it different... Kinda curious... CC1

WICI has a little better signal coverage as it covers east columbia all the way to florence, and cities above and below the pee dee area. WIBZ covers mostly the Sumter area. But in hindsight, they cover the same area except WICI stretching to Flo-town.

Thanks Neil... Screen Readers and Radio-Locator maps are hard to understand :). If I understand your logic though it would make more sense if the Spanish experiment works on 93.9 to cover the south part of Columbia then logic would be to simulcast it on 94.7 to cover the east side of Columbia... Then again who knows what Harold has up his sleeve... It will be interesting to see how it will work since it is so close to WFMV... CC1

The proposal met the spacing requirements. I don't know how well Columbia reception will be given that WIBZ is a Class A and First-adjacent WFMV is right there.

You never know until it actually goes on the air, though.
