Wichita Falls gets a Spanish station

KZAM-FM 98.7, now playing Spanish music instead of the Jack-FM copycat.
This happened sometime in 2012, but I don't know how old this news is. I haven't been up here and tuned in since this time in 2011.

Audio quality is nice and clean as it always was, and from what I've heard there is no imaging playing. Did they sell OR are they renting it out?
 
I'm back in the area visiting family and tuned in earlier.

They're now promoting themselves as 'Fiesta Mexicana 98.7' (Mexican Party 98.7 in English.) No comercials or staff that I've heard but at least they've got imaging and legal IDs now.
 
KZAM was the old call letters of KHTZ when it was country in South Texas.
 
I'm starting to believe KHTZ is a hoax.

(Waiting for jd to show me the FCC permit to put my fears at ease...)
 
This station's got an air staff now, I'm back in Texoma and tuned in a couple times. Seems like your average regional Spanish music station, commercials, live remotes, and stuff.

Only thing they need to fix is the audio, it's in stereo but it's as if there's no trebble, only bass and mid-range.
 
The station is now going as La Mejor FM, with regional Spanish Music. I believe they still have a little airstaff in place, and I have heard commercials too.

Their legal ID is not valid, that's about all I can tell wrong with it from listening. I do miss hearing the random KZAM English jukebox though. LOL
