Here's a couple of Wichita KS airchecks from my collection. I made these mp3s for a friend but I thought someone might enjoy them too.
The first one is a BASF reel-to-reel tape (preserved nicely in a gray plastic box) that I rescued from a DAV Thrift Store in 1988. It's basically someones "mix tape" of songs from KEYN-AM/FM "Stereo Quad" from 1972 with some liners, jingles and DJ talk. It's a direct dub with bad "pause button" edits and some dropouts here and there. But it gives a interesting listen of how "The Rock of Wichita" sounded like 40 years ago.

And here's Kyle Curfman (or Kirkman?) doing nights on Oldies 1410 KQAM from October 5, 1987. It's almost a classic hits format 24 1/2 years ahead of its time with some mid 70's hits mixed in. This one's dubbed from a cheapo no-name C-90 so the sound quality isn't great, but it's listenable.

Have fun listening, and comments welcome.
