WICK AND THE DUKE

As a regular listener of WICK, I am noticing a change in the
type of oldies coming out of the speakers. Seems as if they
gave up the hodgepodge and are concentrating on 50s, 60s and a
little bit of the 70s. The music is definately more balanced and
the selections, while not ecletic, are more varied. Noticed it in
all dayparts but in particular at night where the Duke is filling in
for Joe Cruz the past 10 days.
Any thoughts?

The variety was part of WICK's charm. Sticking with the 50's and 60's will get stale-- fast.

Maybe, but Oldies 92 this is not. They seem to be sprinkling
in some local songs too. Maybe I overdosed on WNAK for 90 days
straight and it just seems better.

I actually think a true oldies station would be a musical encyclopedia of the last 50 years. All the way back to the beginning. I would cut the oldies off at 1976. You have a 21-year span there with hundreds of songs to choose from. And not just the same 400 you hear on every oldies station...you could open up (possibly) a 12-13 hundred song playlist. Just my humble opinion. Best wishes to The Duke and the gang at Bold Gold.
