Did anybody else read Mary Ondrako's bit about WICK over the weekend in the Voice? The sound of the station has greatly improved. Format tweeks are evident. If they are going to continue with oldies they have the absolute hands down best running the ship now! Wouldn't it be ironic if this station that's been an also-ran for so long and was rumored to be on the brink of going dark due to previous ownership now became a real winner? If anybody can do it The Duke can! Add to that the fact that he's not hampered by corporate suits randomly calling the shots from out of the market and it seems to me that they may be onto something there. I wish them well and success and I'll be listening.

As a regular listener of WICK, I noticed the tweekings and
reported them on this board. Glad I wasn't alone in seeing
how well they are sounding. There has been discussion about
a call letter change. I think that would be a mistake for
WICK because, scandal or not, it is a heritage signal in the
region. The fact that the station is sounding like a radio
station again, only adds a cherry to the top of the sundae.

"you can't write this s---" Hec you can't even make it up. WKRP, which
was based on a lot of true stories from various stations can't compare to the stuff that goes on in this market today.
