Wide Orbit Levels

Does anyone else have issues with levels wandering on Wide Orbit automation? My predecessor constantly was chasing "problems in the console" by readjusting the levels on the board every time a channel would get hot or low, instead of checking the automation because supposedly you can't change the card levels on the automation machine itself.

That being said, I calibrated the console last week...every module...and it's still fine. But, ever third event on the automation is clipping the audio card. Levels on the board show fine, but you can hear the gross overdrive going on as the system cycles through it's audio channels.

This happens on everything that plays on this particular workstation, but usually only affected on the voice tracker. Today, it's migrating to the on-air channels too. Just curious if anyone else is having similar issues with this system, and what, if anything, can be done about it.

Thanks!

Levels out of the automation is usually controlled by the sound card software's driver. I use Scott Studios/SS32 and Prophet NexGen with ASI Sound Cards....So from what I hear from you, one of the 3 channels is just flat out wrong. Go to the ASI software on the computer and you will be able to see the "mixer" of the outputs. My best guess, one of them is off.

There is a place to set the levels for each stream. Where you ask? Well that depends on the version....Call and make them show you. The ASI mixer app will show you what is going on, but any changes you make in that will be wiped out when the program restarts.

I believe there is an .ini file that holds the default level settings for most ASI cards. It may take a bit of looking to find it...as I recall, it lives somewhere in the Windows directory (not the ASI folder).

Speaking of Wide Orbit... Anyone using the Adobe Audition plug in having issues with channels flip flopping? Also we are running version 1.2 upgrading to 2.0 in the next little bit.. Anything different with that version? Thanks
