this is where i first became a D.J. while attented WMU. I have a question to Western Michigan, WIDR only had 100 watts when i was there....91-97....and till this day...this station still has only 100 watts.

WHAT a waste of a good station, where college students wanted to start on the air...and no one can hear them. You could only pick up WIDR on campus...and down stadium drive about 10 miles or so.

WEMU in Ypsilanti has 15,000 watts, WGVU in Allendale has 3000 watts, So how come Western can't upgrade WIDR.?? makes no sense to me.

FCC rules and physics is the primary answer, and add to that the cost.

Remember too that with university licensees, the amount of student involvement and opportunity is usually inversely proportional to the station's licensed wattage.

Johnnie, write them a big, fat endowment check and see what happens. Maybe they'll name the tower after you.......
