WIEL 1400 and ESPN on 101.5 in E-Town

Does anyone know what happened to WIEL in E-Town? Will they be back?
I noticed ''The Point'' that was on 101.5 moved to 107.3, and now 101.5 is ESPN Radio which used to be on WIEL.

I have always found it a little odd that they have to file for silent authority because the lease on the tower site expired. Did they not know it was running out? Did they not have time to find a place to move it BEFORE the lease ran out? Or did they do it on purpose to save money from running the station for a while?

Well Bengal, until you have owned a 1000 watt AM in a small town you need to give them some slack. It was extremely hard in good times and now it is damn near impossible. More AM stations will fall in the next 12 months and a few FMs will too. Might be a good period for you to buy one and show all us how to run a station correctly.

You know what's funny, Jr. You talking like you know me.

It's dark just till we get it moved. BTW on a technical note, we installed the Comrex BRIC-Link for STL over a Windstream DSL when we moved it to the old WRZI 101.5. The set-up was pretty easy and I think it sounds great!

Thanks for the plug, JQ! :) And incidentally, 101.5 is NOW WTHX and 107.3 is NOW WRZI...just to keep things confusing. ;)
