WIFI 1460 AM program the station yourself?

WIFI life radio has been having dead air at times in the past few months at times but this morning the following message keeps repeating every minute on the station: Hello everybody this is john foresight the new operator of 1460 AM WIFI! do you wanna have your own radio show? You can on 1460 am wifi. the show can be on any subject! It can be on health, religion, sports, politics finantial advice what e er you want as long as it's clean it goes on 1460 am wifi! grab a pencil i want you to take down a very very important phone number! If you wanna program in english call me john foresight at 609 472 3524 that's john foresight 609 472 3524! have your own radio show at am 1460 wiki! Call me John Foresight 609 472 3524 and keep listening to am 1460 cuz your gonna hear some great programs!

Maybe I should give the guy a call and as part of the stunt, have someone from the old WIFI (92.5 FM). Recreate a show from 1967 or wait Super Lou could buy time or maybe Craig Baker could be the engineer or bring back Ron Diamond or even Johnny Deveraux or from the dead Polka Joe! Or even me.

Forgot to ask, does anyone know if Forsythe is running this out of the WNJC studios or does plan to set up shop up near Florence?

A more important question is who pay’s the fines for an FCC surprise inspection, when they set's up field strength readings at the local WAWA and the station is over power and the main phase loop is NNW, the EBS test is malfunctioning and the station’s phone lines are disconnected and the gates to the tower houses are wide open, and the station won't switch to low power, and the records skipping, and .....

It's ultimately the licensees responsibility.. but, if during the LMA of WIFI, the elasor of the facility causes fines to be incured, the licensee can go after them.

see......your very right. i told john f. just what the posting said before this one. even thou your an LMA does it not mean that you count on the current owner of the license. you do run an LMA like you own it. the commission kinda likes it that way.

the new operators of WIFI seem like real gentlemen and are amazingly excited about WIFI radio.

Next John should buy 1350 WHWH...and EVERY other AM station in the state and put a REAL radio station on it. I'll help do it. Sam, you in?

Why does this smell? Brokering programs to rookies. That'll work. Unless it's as bad as the people who try out for American Idol (R) this will last about a month.

Doesn't ANYONE have a clue about how to make a great radio station EVEN in these times?

I SINCERELY wish John luck, as I would LOVE to see ANY AM station be successful, but come on John... AM can be fun. REALLY FUN! Right Sam?

Call me.

From 1360am Radiohost

Hi,
My name is Murdock but everyone in the tri-state area knows me as "The Mystic".
I've been a radiohost at 1360am WNJC owned by John Forsythe for 8 years. He will attest I have one of the top 3 shows at that station.
SINCE my debut of "The Mystic Hour", Tri-state area's FREE call-in LIVE psychic talkshow, I have found not only great revenue from my sponsors, but my many many live appearances as well.
You MAY have already heard or seen me, as I've appeared on TV many times thanks to my show, and its many listeners, including predicting the Eaghles going to the Superbowl, & the Phillies winning the World Series in the 5th a day before the it started.
All I can tell you is brokered time is CONTENT is YOUR responsibility as far as FCC goes, not Antennas, power, etc...
But it's also the greatest job I ever had.
Check me out on tues 10pmEST on WNJC 1360 and if you can't get the station from your locale, feel free to tune in thru the website. www.themysticsrealm.com also has a stream. Just click on "The Mystic Hour" link.
Good luck!
P.S. if 1340am is anything like 1360am, expect me to expand to that one as well.....

Yes, Brokered time content is YOUR responsibiltiy, the host is responsible for not broadcasting obscene material or breaking FCC rules regarding content.. but the station can and will hold a brokered host responsible if they cause the station to incur FCC fines.

1340? I think you mean 1350am, contact MRBI if you really wanna buy time. They sold some on Friday nights to WBCB 1490 for them to broadcast high school sports when there was more then one game that needed to be done.

Wow. This is fantastic. What a godsend. Now someone around the station can predict when will the FCC will issue the next fine for 1460, so John Forsythe can make sure he's not within 300 miles of the joint. Can you predict how many watts over power 1460 will be tonight? Or, better yet, just give us all a heads up as to how many people will actually send farewell letters when the FCC yanks the license? Maybe you can conduct a quiet seance around the station, to correct the meter readings and bring the WNW phase lop into compliance.
Will the towers be sold at auction of for scrap metal? How 'bout, will 1360 loose their license too because of co-operator dereliction? How many more questions do I get? This is fantastic.

The attempt at being humorous (as you typically seem to do) may be a tad MORE well-received if you proofread your condescending jargon. Don't quit your day job...leave the humor to Leno and Letterman ::)

Sam, I've been wondering when 1360 is gonna lose their license because of that crap that's on Saturday Nights 9PM-11PM. I also wonder if they're overpower at night too. A lot of times they're fighting with WDRC for dominance of 1360 here in Central Connecticut.

Crap? That's being nice.. lol.

Rumor has it that WNJC hasn't been in compliance for years. They're supposed to be licensed DA-D 4. They've only got two towers in the ground! And it's been that way for years! What up with dat? However, maybe typical from a dollar a holler station.

They haven't been in compliance for awhile, you're right...

Ask their Engineer, John "Duke" Hammond..he's more.. way more of an IT guy then an RF guy

I was just informed from a very reliable source that WNJC only has one tower operating at all, even at night. That's why you're getting bounce into Connecticut at night. Apparently the landfill where they're located is sinking. Ahh, the sweet smells of success. Wonder what license renewal is like around there.

Sam, Get your facts right, or maybe that does not matter to you... I took over as chief engineer of 1460 last year AFTER the FCC FINED THEM, and since then over $100,000 was spent in correcting ALL the problems. We even brought in Radiotechniques' Ted S. to re-tune everything and repair the mess that Phasetek left. The station has been running at full power within our monitoring points for the last month and will continue to do so under my watch.
