Any comments on how disruptive Wifi TV, Apple TV, or Wifi enabled BluRay players which can be gotten for under $100 will be to the industry?

Networks dont need local outlets anymore to get to the viewer, new networks can pop up overnight.

All that has to be done is to create an app for the various systems and they can have access to the viewer directly.

Local TV could be relegated to the same corner as newspapers not to mention what this will do to the cable companies.
 
"Networks" may pop up overnight, but without content people want, they'll just as quickly pop back under. Content isn't going to magically produce itself for free; you still need some kind of critical mass to make a business viable.

Yeah what he said. Just ask NBC Sports. That Universal Sports channel SUCKS BALLS (And that's putting it in a way that won't get censored by Lance & Co. :) ).

I have little doubt that even Untamed Sports is BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF IT. In fact, like I alluded earlier, I'm surprised that Gannett hasn't snapped it up here in Denver for KTVD-DT yet. They could corner the extreme sports audience with that channel if they were smart enough to add it.

DISCLAIMER Since it's not on here in Denver, I can't attest to how well it's really doing. I'm just making assumptions

I've seen how the newer TVs and blu ray players can stream TV through Wi-Fi apps, which makes me wonder...if they have apps like Pandora on there, why not start an internet channel that streams different music videos like an old time MTV.
