I had the wonderful experience of working for A.R. Byrd years ago in Wiggins. He was a "unique" fellow, to put it best. Does anyone know him and if so how is he doing? I know he was buying up several stations left and right when I was there. He had a very nice wife, Gay was her name if my memory serves me correctly. They had an apartment in the back of the station and I would look up and she would be standing in the control room in her robe with hair sticking up with a plate of lunch! It was quite a humorous setting. Ole "Teenie" as A.R. was called, was quite the salesman. He could sell an eskimo ice. He drove this big caddy and had a huge christmas party every year at the station.
Oh what memories I would like to forget!
