WIGX 94.3

I don't understand why stations that play current artists don't play their currents. Only re currents. What is the big deal. Does it cost more money to play current stuff? Or is someone just too lazy to look at a music chart and download the song ???

Includes a humorous photo, a line from Semisonic's 1998 song that closed down the station: "Closing Time" and suggestions to turn to other stations in the Connoisseur Media cluster (B-103 and K-JOY) and of course the usual comments from folks startled by the format change, although there's a few positive remarks, too.

If only those who liked the station had PPMs...so it goes...

It's very cookie-cutter rock thus far. The production is embarrassingly childish. The logo should be the rock n' roll Elmo doll.

This completely sucks. BE LIKE LAZER 99.3 Turn up up a notch. obviously this station is being run by consultants that just don't care and lied to advertisers saying hey here is our listenership base BLAh blah blah yada yada yada... ZZZ
Godsmack Five finger Death Mudvayne etc would be kick ass.
 
Agreed, I waited for RCN to add some Godsmack, Disturbed ect. nothing. 2 lame rock stations yaaaaaaawwwwn. but I think we all agree on one thing, much better than BAB, but not as good as the Bone in its "Rock Radio" phase.

I've heard Godsmack's "Cryin Like a Bitch" and a few songs by Disturbed several times on RCN. You should probably listen more often.

I can't get RCN in Old Greenwich over FAS but I have listened in the Norwalk area in and out.
 
Whoa! I take back what I said about RCN. Listened to them on my trip to Riverhead this afternoon. They definitely did some tweeking. Heard Alterbridge - Ghost of days gone by at 4:18m then later heard Voltbeat Fallin' at 455, and at 505 some new song wasn't sure who. alot more alternative added to the mix as well. They are sounding great!!! far from lame, I'm going to shut up now.

I can't get RCN. 103.9 WFAS... I don't like you! :/ http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WFAS&service=FM&status=L&hours=U I have to say the imaging of 94.3 is awesome. now if only 95.9 the fox went "fairfield county's pure rock station" I can dream right? presets are in the order (1) 101.9 WRXP (2) q104.3 (3) 94.3
 
RCN is better right now. They've kicked it up a notch, Godsmack, Disturbed, All that remains, Voltbeat, Chevelle, My darkest days, avenge sevenfold......to name what I have heard.
 
Heard an interesting promo on RCN this morning... "time to squish the fish" Turns out it was about the upcoming Jets vs. Dolphins game. Still, ya gotta wonder ;)

With Merlin's sale to CBS, and WRXP to duplicate WFAN,
It was a smart move for WIGX to go rock.
Maybe plan B would be a move to modern rock

Keith Hastings of Hastings Media Consulting has been hired by Connoisseur to help search for the new Shark PD.
Hastings was most recently PD of WHQG (102.9 The Hog) in Milwaukee.

Hastings: "The Shark is a mainstream rock station with an Alternative lean, geared for guys in their '20s and '30s."
"We're all about Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, etc."
"(The new PD) must have the rock attitude, knowledge and enthusiasm needed to build and lead a staff. Strong knowledge of the PPM playbook, music management, a commitment to relentless promotional greatness, a dedication to strategic thinking, and a solid student of all things social media and digital are a must."
