WIIN'S TRANSLATOR MOVING TO 93.1 FM

The main AM station is still a complete mess. Horribly distorted audio with only one channel connected from the radio that is used to feed the transmitter. Nobody wants to hear the Beatles with the vocals and half the band missing. It's been like that since Christmas. AM is a 5000 watt waste. FM is to small to be heard very far. If they won't fix the AM audio, maybe they should let someone else run it that knows how. Nobody and I mean nobody is going to listen to the AM as long as it is completly screwed up. Someone mail them a "Y" adapter please.

There is local money to be had in Jackson with an AM and a translator. You just have to find your niche. There are still opportunities in talk and sports that no one is taking advantage of.

That station has potential. AM has a pretty big signal, FM mostly covers North Jackson, but can't reach much past I-20 if at all. But will never amount to anything if they don't fix the crappy audio.

sounds like they tweaked the audio. Haven't heard anything with the vocals missing lately. Less distorted. but still is a little tubby in the bass.

In that case, hope they got that missing left or right channel thing fixed.

They got it fixed. AM sounds much better. I can get a weak signal from 93.1 in Brandon now. No more Hazelhurst hammering it. One complaint. Why is it daytime only stations sign off when it's still light out. Lately WIIN has been going off 6pm. It's not dark until nearly 8pm this time of year. I can understand going off the air at 5:00 during the winter when the time changes but thats too early during the summer. WTWZ stays on until you begin to hear St. Louis in the background. at least until 7pm this time of year.

Not sure. It's been Beatles since January. They fixed the audio a few weeks ago and finally connected the missing left channel. It lasted maybe a week. It's messed up again. badly distorted with frying and crackling sounds. Was clear only for a week or too. Now it's unlistenable again. why bother listening.
