Wikipedia Battle!

It looks like we have an editing battle on our hands.

The "970 WFLA" wikipedia page is continually being changed. First, the entry will have a positive spin, and then it will be edited to have a negative spin.

However, the negative spinner seems to have given away their identity. The last change also removed a reference to the fact that WWBA has been unsuccessful in gaining traction as an alternative talk station to WFLA.

Hmmmm.

I wonder if there are any former WFLA staffers who are now at WWBA, or recently began working at WWBA. Perhaps there is some bitterness in having to move to a station that is nothing more than a joke?

I think Wikipedia fights are hilarious, and I hope that this one continues. Mostly, I just think it's funny that the negative spinner feels that a Wikipedia entry would make a listener switch from a station that they can hear to a station that features static.

And to the positive spinner: it doesn't mean much that WFLA is number one at anything. When you are the only talk station in town, you will always be number one.

I first noticed this happening around 2 months ago.

Right after Clearchannel made budget cuts.

I don't think that Bubba had anything to do with this.

No, the WWBA reference said the station dropped its attempt at local programming because it failed to gain an audience. I think the real reason it stopped p.m. drive programming was because the host, Brian Fasulo, left the job.

Regarding former WFLA staffers going to WWBA, there are several, two in the newsroom and at least one traffic guy.

If WFLA keeps its rate of layoffs going, soon it will have a similar skeltal staff of WWBA!

How do you know its someone from WWBA? the Morons at Clear channel are just dumb enough to do it them selfs and blame WWBA just cause one of their former news guy is at WWBA!! Oh and Dave Ortiz is the god of producers in the Tampa Market...... Is FLA following in the footsteps of its sister station (FLZ) morning show Moron and creating sh*t to make them selfs look better than everyone else? ...looks that way to me! Oh did mention that Dave Ortiz is the larger than life producer!!! We should all model our selfs after him!....lol

I'm sorry, but that always kills me when someone points a finger and calls someone stupid.....[EDIT]

Reading these posts is the easiest way to separate those that DO vs. those that sick back and tear others down because they CAN'T DO.... LOL. Stay in school kids...the radio thing might not work out for you!

[EDIT-inflammatory]

It's like CC's 620 WDAE. The Wiki entry shows it currently to be 5,000 watts. They havent been 5000 watts since the mid 80's. Currently they are somewhere around 11,000 watts. Everytime someone changes it to the correct power, someone changes it back.... You would figure they would want the correct power.

WFLA was probably just dumping its dead wood. WWBA apparently needed some. Wiki-away, people.
So Roger Shulman and Shayna Lance, as well as Eben Brown, are all "dead wood?"

I think it's the other way around- WFLA, programmed primarily via computer and satellite shows, sounds stale and lifeless. On weekend afternoons, all you hear are reruns of Limboob and Sh....
