We should all work together on editing and making articles on South Florida radio stations. Some pages don't exist. Looking at the box that says FM radio stations in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market, I saw some articles have not yet been created.

I clicked on "101.5" and it went to a non-existant article "WLYF". I started a "WLYF-FM" article, so I'll change the link.

What do you say?

Yes it is. By the same token most CHR-POP stations across the nation target kids, teenagers, and young female adults. It's ironic because most of the on-air personalities on these stations are guys right around my age. I've been a TOP 40 fanatic since I was a little kid, and I'm still one today.

There's a Chinese Restaurant that I frequent here in the Homestead area. I actually ate lunch there today. In the past they played LITE-FM (rather loud actually) through their sound system. They then switched over to Y-100. Today they were playing THE-COAST. I asked them why they keep switching their station. They responded that LITE-FM was putting their customers to sleep, and that Y-100 was scaring them away. THE-COAST apparently fits their target demographics of hungry male and female Chinese Food lovers of all ages !

I've been meaning to ask you this for at least a week now. WHY does your original www.radiopages.net home page not match your new www.radiopages.net/radio home page ?

If we are going to link to your home page then it should be your real home page not a secondary page. Kevin added your original www.radiopages.net home page to the WHYI article on Wikipedia, but it's your old home page with old references and old links to July material.

Can you match-up the home pages for us ?

ALSO... If you have any kind of radio-related site with links, a link would be appreciated, to help me re-establish myself in the search engines.

I know that you asked me to do the same thing, but if you would like to write a paragraph or two regarding your Radiopages web site then by all means feel free to do it and send it to me and I will include it as a permanent fixture on my web site.

I'm replying to all Wikipedia-related posts within this thread because the new thread that 954 created is a meter long and my laptop's wide-screen monitor isn't w i d e enough to show everything on the screen. If we stop posting within that other thread then it will naturally slide off of the page and everything will return to looking normal on here again !

I made a big mistake on the WFTL page (which was already written). I accidentally deleted all the references. :-[
Edit: I put what was in the references section back, but it is all botched up. I'll appreciate help fixing it.

You didn't delete the references. You just removed the simple command line that displays them. I fixed it for you. It's all good now ! Check it out - WFTL on Wikipedia !

Speaking of WFTL - not on WIkipedia but on my car's stereo this morning at 5:30 AM on my way to work aqui en el sticks de Homestead - I actually picked-up a rather decent signal at AM-850. I heard the 'Wall Street Journal' show this morning.

Meanwhile over at (what should have been) 'Radio Disney' - WMYM AM-990 - all I heard was a distant stacion en Espanol con mucho kids laughing and singing funny songs. After that a serious-sounding dude came on with the news.

I needed a good laugh this afternoon, and I got it numerous times over and over again everytime I read your statement above ! I've read it about 15 times now - each time laughing hysterically. It's as if you plan to 'point-out' nearly 60 years worth of errors to us ! :

It reminds me of the little kid that shows his dad his homework. The dad looks it over and identifies numerous spelling mistakes on it, so he tells his son to get the dictionary out, look-up the misspelled words, and spell them correctly. The kid then inquires how he could possibly look-up the words if he doesn't know how to spell them correctly. The dad pauses for awhile to think about it, and then in frustration he basically tells his son to start with Page 1 of the dictionary.

Well, Excuuuuuuuuse me. If you start reading the chronology with 1948,
you would assume that it was called WFTL then. I don't recall if I saw Curt Gowdy
mentioned anywhere on the page. Wasn't this the station he owned? If there are
other errors... well, I'm sure you'll find them.

60 years of errors? No, I never heard of the original WFTL 1400 before 1966, and
I wasn't able to get a decent signal on 850 until they increased the power during
the current regime. Look for Mike's recent quote about WFTL on 850. Good for a
laugh and a great addition to that page.

As for the other question, the new index.html page in the radio
directory with the RSS feed is the main page of the Radio Pages. The index.html
page in the root is the main page of the whole domain. They were almost identical
just temporarily because I hadn't added a lot of pages yet.

And Radio Pages is two words, with a space, except in the URL.

NO - I wouldn't find them because I know very little about the long history of WFTL. I'll stick with contributing material for my WHYI creation on Wikipedia and assisting Kevin with his WLYF creation. Feel free to work on WFTL for us on behalf of the entire 'Radio-Info Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Wikipedia Accuracy Tiger Team !'

I was in one spelling bee long ago when I was in 5th grade. I spelled the word "weather" right, but the killer was "deceive". That word took out a lot of kids.

On another radio board, you have 24 hours, I think.

At one time, about 1981, I thought the IBM Correcting
Selectric was mankind's greatest invention of all time.

That had the white stuff built in, and with its memory, it
could remove the last few letters you had typed, limited
only by its buffer size, whatever that was.

I'll also correct any boos-boos that may occur during the building of the article such as the loss of references, etc. I won't be able to contribute much material for WLYF because quite simply I know next to nothing about their long history. It's just like WFTL. I know that they used to be on 1400 and now they are on 850 via a big stick near the big lake. 954 knows all about WFTL ... going all the way back to 1948 ! ;D (I'm still laughing about that one !)

The WHYI article continues its forward momentum. I've been adding bits and pieces to the 'Bobby & Footy' era of Y-100 off and on during the day today.

Since you mention it, WFTL went on the air (at 1400 kilocycles, I believe)
in September 1946 . On a houseboat! Look at the newspaper item on Mike's site.

What is now called WFTL may have gone on the air in '48. I'll take your
word for it, whoever wrote the WIKI item. I know less about their history.
