WIL PROGRAM DIRECTOR

QUESTION: WIL was the home of Ron Lundy, Dan Ingram and Bob Dayton before Rick Sklar hired them to WABC. And Rick got a lot of credit for those hires and that station and deserved it. BUT who was the genius to hire all of them to WIL in about 1962? Who was THAT program director? Thank you

Sam Holman was the first PD at 1430 WIL. He and manager John Box put together a great dj lineup. Sam Holman went on to be the first Top 40 PD at WABC in New York. He hired most of the old WIL dj's to come to WABC. Other WIL dj's went to LA like Gary Owens who later was on Laugh In.
