Wild 104 is yet on another one

Ive heard this twice now. Its a mashup of Ida Core-Let me think about it, with the lyrics for Prince 1999, and toward the end it goes into missy elliot vocals. I would still rather them play the original Ida Core, but at least its another 4/4 beat added to a Hip Hop station. This station must have a good 4 or 5 Dance songs in rotation now. They are even playing a Psuedo Dance mix of Soulja boy,,, RIGHT NOW.... This station plays alot of remixes and dance tracks, its quickly becoming one of my favorite Rhythmic streamers, aside from WDRE and Pulse and stuff like that, as well as many other rhythmics and some mainstreams.

Ya KNOW, Brett is right, I often to flip flop my favorite stations and formats, buts thats becuase these Rhythmic stations are evolving back to dance.....YAY.....

Now Wild 104 is playing the original IDA CORE-Let me think about it....... Come on and add this station to Dance airplay already. Stations like Wild will help get Dance songs into the rhythmic charts,,,,, this means other stations will also add them eventually, especially stations that were one dance stations in the past.

I believe you need to be playing more than 5 dance songs to make it on to the Dance Radio Charts. ::)

LOL, cheer up John its been a good day for you. Cascada's "What Hurts The Most" is now playing in Houston courtesy of the new Hot 95.7 8), and I know Chattanooga's new sound of 96.5 The Mountain is also airing it.
At the current rate Wild 104 is adding and playing Dance songs, you might see Cascada pop in there as well sooner or later.
Clubber may be getting a bit ahead of himself, but Wild 104 sounds damn good, and is definitely Dance friendly. I think whats cool about it is that its taking a chance on Dance songs that even most of the Dance stations arent taking a chance on.

Looks like KQMQ 93.1 The Zone in Honolulu also added Cascada in the past week - its getting about 15 spins right now. Smile John :)

I just heard Cascada on B-96 Chicago at 4 AM....LOL I didnt want to start a new thread just for that. Im gonna check out B-96 today and see if they are testing any more dance records. So far it looks like Wild 104, and 104.3 XHTO are a couple of the most dance friendly rhythmics we've seen in a while. The funny thing about Wild 104 playing dance is, they are still positioned as a Hip Hop, R&B, and Reggeaton station, so I guess those certain people that say that these pure Hip Hop rhythmics cant play dance theory, and throw that right out the window.

B-96 has been all over Cascada and Miley Cyrus.
As for Wild 104, Ida Corr is now Top 30 there while Samim goes Top 10 8)

I'm not unhappy. Just trying to put it all in perspective. Cascada has done reasonably well to date. Looks like the single will eventually be gold for them. Already over 300,000 downloads sold. Plus I get to see the Cascada data everyday. :)

Fredrico Franchi's record being top 10 there is the most impressive one to me.

As for Rhythmic stations never being able to play dance, it wasn't me that said that. In fact, looking at where some of our records get played you can see that I know it's not true. :)

Rhythmic stations have a history of supporting dance records, although it's been rare in the last 10 years.

Hello JP,,, How are you today... Anyway, I know you never said anything about Hip Hop stations not being able to play Dance, but several posters on other boards, and our very own Jimi has said that in the past.

JP, I fully support Cascada and I try to support every song they do either by the CD, or Legal Downloads. I try to support all the Robbins products I can, plus I have changed alot of peoples minds about Dance in the last 10-12 years. Some people when I first met them they hated dance, but after hearing it with me and getting to know some of the songs, many of them are now really big dance fans now that buy the music.

JP, would you mind if I added you and Robbins to my myspace page to help spread the word and show support. I dont spam or write a bunch of juvenile Bullitens or anything. I just dont know your URL or I would have requested you already.

Wild might also be playing Plumb's "In My Arms" in regular rotation now.
More Rhythmics that may add Dance: 92.1 The Beat out of Tulsa. They recently added Miley Cyrus to the playlist and she's getting about 15 spins this week:

A station that's just been added to the Rhythmic panel is Wild 97.7 Albuquerque. If you look at the bottom of their airplay list you can see they play more then just the big Hip Hop records:

I think XMs The Heat will add more dance too. They already play Ida Core in heavy regular rotation, plus the new Janet Jackson-Rock with U, as well as classics from Daniel Beddingfield- Gotta get through this, and I heard them play Bob Sinclar-World hold on very breifly for maybe a week last summer. probably onlt about 7 spins. They have also added that Hip Hop song that samples Alice Deejay, though this isnt one of my personal favorites. Last summer XMs heat was on Maroon 5 and Avril Lavign, and right now they are playing Leona Lewis-Bleeding love.

That Leona Lewis song Bleeding Love is another example of what ive been preaching...a good at best track that gets added all over top 40 when a great song like Plumb In My Arms gets ignored.......It infuriates me to no end

Personally I think the Leona Lewis track is one of those perfect Pop songs. It's already gone to number one in the UK, and all over Europe. I'm happy to see Leona's success spread to the US.
