WILD 939 transition to 939 KISS FM?

I went to wild939.com and got a logo... Radio Insight did predict that this flip would be coming due to the registration of 939KissFM.com and that links to the same page. This sucks that CC is blowing up what was once a great rhythmic to bring Lima crappy KISS FM.

Since radio does things for a reason, one would assume that something must not have been working with "wild"...otherwise, no changes would be needed...

Surely you jest :) That music wasn't quite in my tastes anymore but I know a lot of people up there who like it. It's just more watering down of the dial.

939kissfm.com is for WKSL-FM Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill NC, i do see that the wild 93.9 web site is just showing a logo, maybe something is happening tomorrow

Oops. I meant 939KissLima.com

Yeah... I'm willing to bet Wild is done. It's sad because I remember when they were pumpin' out the rhythmic just a few years back. You can tell it's Premium Choice now.

Not the least bit surprised (hey they're CC!)

WBTT "The Beat" in Dayton (licensed to Englewood) became a Kiss FM several years back...now they are "Channel 94.5"...and the format is just as lackluster.

Lima loses yet another R&B format.

Inside sources at CC have provided me with this information:

Wild 939 becomes 93-9 Kiss FM at 12:00 am tonight.

Website: 939kisslima.com
Number: 419-879-KISS
Jocks will still be around but don't be surprised if the music is from Premium Choice CHR.

You can see a preview now at http://wild939.com/iplaylist/playlist.html?last10=1 (goes right to the new KISS site)

Sad to see Lima's powerhouse turn into another corporate mistake.

Can't Lima pick up Toledo's Kiss, WVKS? 92.5? WHY ANOTHER COOKIE CUTTER UP THAT WAY? ::)

I believe he's saying, what's the point of another KISS? KISS FM is doing much better in sales and it's easier to sell a Mainstream CHR in a small market like that vs. a Rhythmic. I miss WiLD to death and would rather have the old WiLD 939 with rhythmic AC during the day and rhythmic at night. They played new music first and just sounded GOOD.

I agree. As much I detest Clear Channel, "Wild" was the perfect format that appealed to Lima's young people....and it filled the void after the downsizing and eventual demize of R&B 940 JAMZ several years ago.I also miss Dayton's 94.5 The Beat...which later became their version of KISS FM and is now "Channel 94.5" and is very boorish. If only some precise and non-distorted facts and figures would spell the demise fo Premiere Radio Networks...but that won't happen as long as Rush is around.

I think he means because Kiss Toledo is a cookie cutter, 93.9 doesn't need to be. Yes, you can get WVKS in the Lima area (and even to its south toward Wapak and St. Marys), but not on something such as a clock radio and hardly well enough to listen to on a real consistent basis.

That's exactly what I meant. Norwalk can pick up both Cleveland & Toledo KISS stations & half the time it's syndicated voice tracks out of LA. Now's Tower 98's chance to jump on the "Wild" side a bit more, especially after 6pm.

Nightfly makes a good point. Tower 98 is SO adult, I'd be happy if they went even mainstream. :D Their women listeners must love it, but they suffer in the ratings. I'd do a callout if I were them.

VKS is virtually unlistenable minus atmospheric conditions in St.Marys and Wapak. Lima it comes in with static. 10 miles north of Lima...no problem.
