As I am listening to Club 949 I just noticed they just broadcasted the EAS on the stream... which is strange since I thought the EAS is only broadcasted on the over-the-air signal, not the stream.

You're not (to my knowledge) required to stream your EAS, but it's definitely legal to do so.

It's all up to where you connect your streaming encoder.

I would certainly presume 94.9 has a backup transmitter. At that point, they need a distribution amplifier to split their program feed between the two transmitters. Distribution amplifiers have more than two outputs -- there are spares -- and it would only make sense to connect the streaming encoder to one of those spare DA outputs.

smart money says the live stream is running out of the processor..

If not that.. a FM radio tuner... I've seen stations do that.

I also saw all XM Radio Channels do EAS tests...all at the same time!!!
