WILD 977

I think that this is a good move. I have been listening for an hour now and I have been hearing nothing but big hits. From 2Pac "How Do You Want It" to Lloyd "Get It Shawty" to One Republic "Apologize". And to launch this station right next to KKSS on the dial is another good move. I'm glad they picked 97.7 because it has a better signal than 106.3 ot 106.7 and it booms through the valley. Kiss has sounded stale, very late on new music. If AGM does this right, with good programming, promotions and staff, KKSS may end up #3 out of the three CHR's in the market. Who is programming Wild? Anyone know?

By the way, Radio Lobo has moved to 106.7. Check out their web site.

Good Luck to AGM with Wild! Especially while Kiss has NO PD.
What a great move by Tim and his new consultants!

Remember you can't win on the cheap, if ya don't market wild your just taking up dial space, just make sure you have a great product before ya market it. Look out APS look for the wild van to be at every H.S. in town.

Hey they still have Arhens on the pay roll maybe he can do mornings (LOL just for grins and gigles)

No reason to let KKSS have all the money. AGM has a good consultant so it's on.

Steve Perun is the consultant.

Steve Perun from Kiss L.A.
That means a hybrid format..
listening over the past 24 hours..you can tell with Kelly Clarkson..etc..
not a true hip-hop station.
This will be interesting.
Good..or bad..but interesting.

So How Does Wild 977 sound to everyone? How is their music? How is their imaging? How does the processing sound compared to Kiss and Kob Fm?

concerning Steve Perun, Every top 40 station he works with usually is #1 or #2 in every book. He also consults a jack type station called Pirate Radio...not sure how that does

Does anybody know who they are hiring for Program Director?

Processing leader in this race has always been KKOB-FM. Not sure what they are running, but they have always been one of the best processed stations in ABQ. Loud, wide, open, punch, but natural. Hard to do with rock and rap at the same time. Bill Harris is the engineer. Maybe AGM should find out what he's running...anyone know?

Except when he he consulted Wild 106 last time round. Maybe that is where the 'usually' comes into play.

And waaaaaay over modulated....in an illegal way......

Could be blowin' the meter off of late, don't know. Last time I was in ABQ (about 2 years ago). 93.3 was hands down THE processing leader. And, legal.

Does anyone know what they are running? And, did it change in last 2 years?

This certainly was true in mid December..
KOB-FM was heads above the other stations in volume..at the expense of quality.
They sounded fine on down tempo non-clutter music..but otherwise..it was out of hand.
I'm sure there were a few complaints..as towards the end of December, they backed down
tremendously.

But on average..KOB-FM is very well processed.
KKSS sounds good..
WILD when not static prone..good.
