WILD translator

If that is the case, then they will probably have to finagle a different frequency, since Providenceʼs 94.1 (WHJY) is too close.

During this filing window, my understanding is they can move the translator to any non-reserved frequency; ie. 92.1-107.9. Another one in Mass --- HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP is selling W293BN/BARNSTABLE, MA to BLOUNT MASSCOM, INC.for $88,000. The buyer will apply to move the translator and rebroadcast Religion WVNE-A/LEICESTER-WORCESTER, MA. - See more at: http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/a...nslator-deals-f#sthash.UbnPBp6Q.v9CSYZkz.dpuf

These AM daytimers like WIZZ Greenfield, are perfect candidates for new translators. Good luck finding new frequencies for some of these, however.

Oooh, can't wait to see how this plays out. You do realize that Providence's WHJY is a CC station. CC had better not pull another stunt and takes 'HJY directional - or more so than it may already be. (Yes, I know they're not known as CC anymore, but that's how I prefer to identify them.)

God help us! WILD is broadcasting Communist crap to Boston from sun up to sun down. And now they want to go 24/7 on FM. This has to be stopped! I'll take WJIB or WROL on FM, but not that Communist sell out!

On another thread it's mentioned WJIB, WROL and WILD are all trying to get on 106.1 in or near Boston...once home to
pirate station Touch 106

I don't think so....

It is my assumption that if they got an FM translator, the would bring back more mainstream programming....probably off a bird/syndicated.

Correction --- to any non-reserved AVAILABLE frequency. Big difference, especially in Boston. I have no financial skin in this, but I am hoping for WJIB....

iHeart (formerly CC) lowered coverage on WWBB Providence and WCIB Falmouth in order to increase the coverage of one of their own stations, WBWL, in the greater Boston area. Why would they possibly consider lowering coverage of WHJY for a translator application by another company?

Eli,

Yes, I realize CC would very likely never do that, but I'm still smarting over what they DID do to WCIB and especially WWBB (in my hometown) for the sake of a station like Bull that will probably never be anywhere near as great as the two slighted stations.

Should CC have to divest itself of WCIB and/or WWBB because of financial woes, the new owner of either of those is now stuck with a signal inferior to what it used to be. And with 101.7 shootin' the bull, there's nothing that can be done for 101.5 or 101.9.
