Wildman/Piecoro 'split up' on Real Talk 1160

I sense a move to sports 24/7 possibly after the first of the year. Just throwing it out there for discussion. Jeff Piecoro was originally with the station when it was WBOB and before that when the calls were WKYN and featured The Two Angry Guys in the afternoon.

I remember BOB 1160, and the jabs they took at WLW (calling it "The Big FAT One"). Ratings weren't great but they did take WLW down a couple notches. My favorite personality was Tim Lewis. Not sure if going all-sports now would hurt or help their ratings, seeing as their ratings haven't been available for months. But if they did go sports, they can't do much worse than 1530, which is a 50,000 watt signal (compared to 5,000 for 1160) but can't even get a 1-share.

Side note: 1160/1050 apparently no longer have Cyclones hockey. In fact no radio station in Cincinnati does.

Microbob---I had the same thought today as I was listening to the Wildman...with CBS and NBC starting up new Sports Radio Networks at the beginning of next year, I wouldn't be shocked to see 1160 go to 'all sports'...

With Sports Radio taking off in major markets Cincinnati seems to be lagging behind. Sports talk also attracts a younger audience as well as make more money.

Sports talk always out performs its ratings, income wise.

Jeff and Wildman are totally different in their approach to what they do. I think Rick does a better job with Jeff.

There are already two full time sports stations PLUS what WLW does.

I am not too sure that i'd be looking for a move to all sports in January. At least, no one has told me about this.

PLUS what WMOH does.

The one thing Cincinnati does NOT need is more sports talk.

Oh, i hear that! I ENJOYED listening to Jeff, last night. He and Rick work well together.
