wilds ratings

0.0...they don't have enough ratings to even register which is pretty pathetic for a full market FM signal. Rumors are running rampant that they will soon be switching that frequency to a Talk format. Tommy Austin, who put that station on the air has been sent off to Chicago, and the ax men are already coming in to Clear Channel StL and shaking things up at their underperforming signals. They just made some pretty big music adjustments on Majic the other day, taking it from a straight ahead Urban AC to a new format called Young Urban AC, which features less raw hip hop then 104.1 mixed in with current R&B and Hip Hop and R&B recurrents from the 90s/2000s. It is playing a good amount of the same music heard on 104.9 and 107.7.

Perhaps if Clear Channel actually wanted Wild to succeed, they would have done a bit of promotion; at least a few billboards or something. It has been 15 years since that station has had a format with any appeal to the average caucasian listener, therefore the frequency basically doesn't exist to them. They tried to do the same thing with 100.3, but realized finally that after 20+ years doing urban oriented formats, no matter what they threw on that frequency, it just wasn't getting any listeners, so they churned through "The Sound," "Generation X," and "The Brew." before throwing in the towel and moving Majic to that signal.

Would an active rock station to go head to head with The Point work in St. Louis? I'm new to St. Louis so not sure if this has already been done at one point. Personally, I prefer alternative but The Point is essentially an alternative/active rock hybrid so if a full fledged active rock station comes out, maybe the Point will shift back to straight up alternative and leave the active rock alone. Just a thought.

Or they're not subscribing it. If they're not suscribing, it won't show up whether it's getting zero ratings or if it's #1 in the market.

My understanding is that Clear Channel has a group deal with Arbitron. So, if the ratings really are above 0.0, it would either be a case of the station not encoding for PPM, which makes little sense because it had previously been encoded, or a case of Arbitron having its ownership listed incorrectly and not releasing its ratings for public view in error.

Now I'm seeing they're at a 1.8. What also interests me is that Majic is falling wayyyy behind Old School. Does anyone think Old School is just a novelty that will wear off and Majic will go up again?
